Ivo Hesmondhalgh

Ivo started life as a lawyer with Travers Smith Braithwaite. Whilst working at Travers Smith, he started to develop property and shortly afterwards left the law to concentrate on property development.

He co-founded and ran Bulgarian Property Developments PLC until 2009 when it was hostilely taken over by a company associated with Jo Lewis. Bulgarian Property Developments was quoted on AIM and, at its peak, had a market capital of c £60 million. Following the takeover, Ivo returned to England and set up HM.

He has developed a wide range of properties in the UK, from the large to the small. Two of the largest developments have been the conversion of the former St Giles’s Hospital in Camberwell into 22 flats and the ongoing conversion of the former naval hospital in Plymouth into 58 flats.

Karen Boal

Karen acts as the interior decorator for HM. Having begun a career as an English and Drama teacher she switched to the world of interior and architectural design and spent many years running a design partnership in London, working mainly on private residences and on office projects for film and publishing companies.  After several years working in Edinburgh for a major pop celebrity she returned to London and has worked with Ivo since 2006.
