The former Naval Hospital in Plymouth is in the centre of Plymouth. It was the first purpose built naval hospital in England and was completed in the late 18th century. It is surrounded by the original 18th century wall and is centred on a large grassed courtyard, giving it the feel of an Oxford College.
After the site ceased to be used as a hospital, a large portion of the site was sold to a local developer. He failed to proceed with the development and the buildings were left there to rot. We bought 4 of the main buildings from the receiver and then purchased another one at auction a year later.
We are converting the buildings into 60 apartments. The first phase of 12 apartments has been completed. All of the apartments should soon be sold. We have commenced Phase 2, which is the conversion of a further 3 buildings, leaving one (which is on a separate part of the site) to be done later.
